I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
JJ's Angels
Written by Mike LaMonica- JJ’s dad and leader of the JJ’s Angels team
Justin "Uncle Big Bear" Newton was my peer at work during the time when Juliana was going through treatment. He volunteered and spoke up and told our boss that anything that I had on my plate to give it to him so that I could do what I needed to do. I am forever grateful for the gift of time he gave me. It was Christmas time 2010 when talking to Justin we decided to shave our heads in honor of Juliana. We chose the biggest event in the area, Kitty Hoynes in Syracuse NY. With zero hesitation Justin was just as jacked up as me to register as we checked everyday for weeks and finally saw that registration was officially open. At the time he had not had a haircut in years and drove up from Winchester Virginia and proudly shaved in honor and memory of Juliana. This March will mark year #5 that Justin will be making the annual trip. He is like family to me and always will be. I always tell people of the "Justin rule" where if any one of his JJ's Angels shirts are clean he's wearing it.
