Hi everyone!
It's that time of year again.
I'm shaving my head for the 5th year in a row to raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer through the wonderful St. Baldrick's Foundation.
I NEED YOUR HELP!
As many of you know, our little boy Kevin has been bravely battling Leukemia since he was seven months old. Because of all the truly remarkable people at Albany Medical Center Kevin responded incredibly well to his treatments, and had his last dose of Chemo on March 12, 2010, yeah! His monthly checkups have been going well, and we are one step closer to him being cured for life!
December 11th, 2006 marked the beginning of this long journey. On April 5th our little guy will turn five! Through it all he has been an inspiration with how tough he has been, reminding us daily of what is truly important.
None of this would have been possible if not for the incredible research being done by the people dedicating their lives to fighting this terrible disease called cancer. Kevin is with us today because of wonderful people like you who donate so generously to this fight!! And, he is benefitting directly from St. Baldrick's. His hospital has received grant money from the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
I realize that this is a difficult year, and times are very tough. I completely understand if you cannot match what you gave last year. BELIEVE ME, I wish I didn't have to ask for your money. But the reality is that this monster called cancer doesn't know that there is a recession, and it hasn't taken a break. Maybe THIS WILL BE THE YEAR THAT WE FINALLY FIND A CURE!
If you can find it in your heart to donate again, I am eternally grateful. If you can't, could you please forward this to someone who might? There is strength in numbers, so please help by spreading the word.
Remember that St. Baldrick's is fully recognized by most gift matching programs, including the GE Foundation.
God Bless,
Mark
