Fadò Irish Pub and St. Baldrick’s Foundation Join Forces to Serve the World’s Largest Irish Coffee

World Record Attempt to Take Place at Fadò on National Irish Coffee Day

CHICAGO, IL (January 25th, 2017) – This National Irish Coffee Day, Fadò Irish Pub (100 West Grand Ave.) will give Chicagoans something to celebrate as it concocts an Irish Coffee of epic proportions for the holiday. At 4:30 PM on January 25th, the Fadò Irish Pub and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation along with Tim Herlihy, National Brand Ambassador of Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey, will attempt to create the world’s largest Irish Coffee – a World Record currently held by Paddy’s Bar and Grill in Portland, OR.

The 234-gallon cocktail will be made using 162 1L bottles of Tullamore D.E.W., 140 plus gallons of hot coffee, 40 gallons of cream and 3lb of sugar – a custom Irish coffee glass was constructed to hold and serve the famed hot beverage to patrons and fellow bartenders from the Chicago community. On January 25th, the Irish coffee will far surpass the current record of 160 gallons

St. Baldrick’s founder and board member, John Bender, will be attending the event to administer the first pour from the coffee glass.

Fadò will also be donating $1 to St. Baldrick’s for every Irish Coffee purchased on January 25th at all locations to fund the most promising childhood cancer research. About Tullamore D.E.W.
Tullamore D.E.W. is the second largest Irish whiskey in the world in the fastest growing category. With an intriguing smooth yet complex character, Tullamore D.E.W. is triple distilled, but is also a unique blend of all three types of Irish whiskeys; the pot still, malt and grain whiskeys. As a result, Tullamore D.E.W. is three times smoother with an added gentle complexity. Tullamore D.E.W. was the first and remains one of the few international Irish whiskeys to pioneer this blend of three.

Created in 1829, the brand’s strong heritage started in Tullamore, a town in the heart of Ireland, and was fostered by the vision of an early founder Daniel E. Williams, whose initials live on the bottle to this day. In 2014, Tullamore D.E.W. was brought back to its roots with the opening of a new distillery in the town of Tullamore, which returned whiskey production to the town 60 years after the original distillery closed its doors.
