I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Bauer - We 3 Be Bald

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Bauer - We 3 Be Bald

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!  Cancer has taken my parents along with many other family and friends.  My Mother suffered too much and for too long with mis-diagnosed ovarian cancer.  My father was taken far too quickly by a glioblastoma multiforme.  Many other loved ones have fought cancer valiantly, thankfully some are still alive to tell their stories.  I think St. Baldrick's is a wonderful organization doing some important work in raising funds for childhood cancer research.  No child should have to suffer through the ravages of cancer.  This is how I choose to honor the memories and the valiant fights of those I love.  I know my parents would find St. Baldrick's a most worthy cause.

WHY SHAVE MY HEAD?  To honor my Mom... her fuzzy head let her smile shine that much more brightly - that’s how she looked in my last happy memories of her. Also because I am going to donate more than 14" of hair to someone who has lost their hair to chemo.  Lastly, because I have always wanted to shave my head and now I can.

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you PLEASE make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

Stewart and Bobby make up the other 2 members of team "We3BBald" and will also be having their heads shaved at this event.  Stewart didn't hesitate, he was on board as soon as I told my why I want to do this! Bobby liked the idea from the start, but jumped on board to be shaved when he learned his hair wasn't long enough to donate... and I may have approved of the idea growing his hair out into a Mohawk over the Summer.

If you're nearby, please come and join us... we would love to have the support!
