I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Dude Where's Your Hair 2.0

February 11th 2014 marks 23 years since I completed treatment for Hodgkin's Disease. That experience remains one of the most significant of my life and I shave my head in recognition of all the kids and families that must go through the same difficult treatments. While I was fortunate to survive, many do not. And even though I was fortunate to survive, my life will always be affected by the aftermath of childhood cancer therapy. Pediatric cancer is a diagnosis for life and the St. Baldrick's Foundation understands that. The only organization devoting their funding to exclusively childhood cancer research, they are the #2 provider behind only the federal government. As a physician-scientist and survivor I understand the difficulties that lie ahead and the challenges that remain. Maintaining steady research funding for childhood cancer research is the only way we can meet these challenges. If you feel compelled to do so, please donate on my behalf. It is money well spent.
