I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: 46 Mommas Shave for the Brave

After bearing witness to what my daughter, Arden, suffered through during treatment for stage IV, high risk Neuroblastoma, only to lose her after 10 months of fighting, shaving my head should be a breeze. It's a sacrifice, sure, one of vanity and ego, but these are things that I can easily shed when it comes to raising money to secure better, less toxic treatments and increased cure rates for pediatric cancers. Hair comes back. Our precious, innocent children who are lost to Cancer (or to side effects from treatment, or to infections while immunocompromised during treatment) cannot. Please join our team's effort to raise greater awareness and funding for pediatric cancers. I am proud to join "46 Mommas Shave for the Brave" as a part of our PAC2 initiative to raise $1 million together and make a huge impact during Childhood Cancer Awareness month in September, 2010. I do this in loving memory of Arden, and with great hope for the tens of thousands of kids out there still battling for each precious day. We need more survivor stories, and we need to know these survivors are able to live long, productive lives free from damaging side effects from treatment.
