When I was 18 years old my father passed away from throat and mouth cancer. This was his second battle with cancer. I know first hand how at a young age cancer can affect and change your family. Helping others to deal with cancer and helping St. Baldrick's to fund research are two of my main reasons for supporting the foundation. No child should go through battling cancer with the fear of having trouble to pay for the treatment, not being able to be with their parents because the family cannot afford housing for themselves nearby, or going without the creature comforts of life we all take for granted. It is my hope that in some small way by shaving my head I can bring awareness to cancer prevention, raise funds to help children and their families actively being affected by the disease, and invoke goodwill from the community to support both the latter ideals in an ongoing manner beyond this single event. Together we can overcome this disease so one day it will be all, but a distant memory. Your donation can help make that a reality for these children and their family today as they deal with cancer. Together we can overcome!
