I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Okay, so here's the thing. Cancer. It SUCKS. It sucks hard. I don't have it. But there are a lot of people who do. There are a lot of kids who do.

My life path has not been such that I am in a position to actively work on finding a cure. But I have this... this hair, y'see. My SecretAgent LoverMan does, too. His own hair, not mine. That would be complicated.

And we're going to shave it off for cancer cure research. IF.

If you donate, and spread the word to others to donate. If I can raise $5000 by October 13, 2012, then I will be doing a Hangout on Air in which your Blissful Duchess will be going bald in solidarity with all those kids who haven't got a choice about it, and SALM is coming with me.

...if we raise the money. So do you want to do something awesome? Skip the Starbucks. Buy one less beer. Don't buy my book - donate, instead, to St. Baldrick's, who use the funds to research a cure, and help cancer survivors to live long and healthy lives.

I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

I may be a one-shavee show, but I'll be just as bald – and I hope you'll cheer me on with a donation!

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
